Please explain the steps involved in a hire.
-
1. Decide upon a castle,
booking date and preferred booking time.(It is advisable to have a
second castle and/or date in mind in case your first preference is
booked out).
2.To book, either
a) use the on-line Booking Form, or
b) phone 0438 084995.
3. Once your booking has been confirmed, you will be sent a rental agreement
(by mail or e-mail). The rental agreement contains
information such as your booking details, hire cost, deposit required,
conditions of hire, and safety instructions.
4. Check that your
booking details are correct and return a signed copy, with the
deposit, to Star Jumps Castle Hire to secure your booking.
5. We will contact you (by e-mail or phone) to let you know when these have been received.
6. The day before your booking we will contact you by phone to confirm the following day's delivery arrangements.
7. At least 30 minutes prior to your booking the deliverer will arrive.
8. The deliverer will collect the balance, provide you with a receipt, and ask you where you would prefer the castle to be set up.
9. Once the castle is erected the deliverer will spend approximately 10 minutes providing you with verbal safety instructions.
10. The deliverer will leave.
11. At the end of your
booking time, the deliverer will return to clean and pack away the
castle. This will take approximately 30-45 minutes.
Are the castles available for hire any day of the week?
-
Yes,
the castles are available for hire weekdays and weekends, including
public holidays. A surcharge is applied on a few days of the year
(eg Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, New Years Eve) due to extra staffing
costs. For more details on the cost of hire on these days, please
phone 0438 084995 or e-mail info@starjumps.com.au
Do you deliver to all areas?
-
Yes,
we deliver to all metropolitan areas. Delivery is free for the
first 20km from our base in Kwinana. Beyond this, the delivery fee is
calculated according to time and travel costs (see Delivery Fees).
Up to 35km from our base, the delivery fee is waived for 6-hour
hires. We intend to establish more branches in the near
future to eliminate the need for the delivery fee.
To calculate your distance from Kwinana visit http://perth.citysearch.com.au/search?type=map_search, and type your address and the Star Jumps address (Dawkins Ct Kwinana) into Get Directions.
For your convenience, you will soon be able to find out the delivery
fee specifically for your suburb on this web-site (we are currently
developing the necessary database).
For areas outside the metropolitan area, we will
gladly deliver to anywhere in the state, provided we can arrange the
staff to do so. A delivery fee is calculated based on time and travel
costs (and in some cases, accomodation). Please phone 0438 084995 or e-mail info@starjumps.com.au and we will provide a quote.
Do you require a deposit?
-
Yes,
we request a 20% deposit to secure the booking. The deposit is fully
refundable if you decide to cancel more than 10 days before the
booking, or if cancellation is necessary on the day due to poor
weather. In the case of poor weather (eg rain, windy conditions) we
will contact you on the morning of your booking to discuss whether you
wish to proceed with the castle.Provided you decide prior to the
deliverer leaving to deliver your castle, your deposit is fully
refundable.
How do I book?
-
You can book by using our on-line Booking Form, phoning 0438 084995, or e-mailing info@starjumps.com.au.
Do you have insurance?
-
Yes,
we have public liability insurance to the value of $10 million, and
will gladly provide you with a copy upon request. If you plan to
have the castle set up in a public domain, such as a park, the local
council will want to sight the insurance policy. Please advise us and
we will ensure that a copy is sent to the council.
Please note that the insurance
covers accidents and injuries caused by equipment failure or
incorrect installation. It is your responsibility, as the hirer,
to ensure adult supervision of the castle at all times. We will
provide verbal safety instructions to the nominated supervisor upon
delivery.
Is there an age limit?
-
No.
In fact this is one of the unique features of our castles. Even adults
can have a bounce! Whilst you most definitely should not
allow adults or older children to bounce while smaller children are in
the castle, a parent can certainly go in the castle to accompany
their young child.
Only children of similar age group and body size
should play in the castle at the same time. This may require grouping
children into similar age/size and allowing each group to play in the
castle for a certain amount of time.
The number of occupants allowed at a time is
dependant on age group and body weight. Each of the castles is clearly
marked with the maximum allowable number of occupants, and you will
also find this information in Castles. If you are planning a
large function, particularly a public event, we recommend supervision
by a Star Jumps supervisor. Our supervisors are experienced in crowd
control and organising appropriate age groups.
Are your castles clean?
-
Yes, they are vacuumed and cleaned with an antibacterial solution after every hire.
Do you provide instructions?
-
Most
definitely. Upon booking, a rental agreement will be sent to you which
contains a list of safety instructions for you to read prior to
your booking day. Upon delivery, you will be asked to nominate a
supervisor who the deliverer will provide verbal safety instructions
to, and will point out the written instructions found on each castle.
Factors such as wind speed and what to do in the unlikely event of
a power failure are also covered. These instructions take about 10
minutes and are mandatory.
Can you supervise the inflatable?
-
Yes,
we can provide supervision of the bouncy castle if you wish. The charge
is $30 per hour per supervisor (minimum 4hrs). Most people prefer to
supervise their own backyard party, but for larger events we recommend
supervision by a Star Jumps supervisor to ensure a safe, smooth-running
event.
What happens if it rains?
-
All
of our castles have a rain cover. We always warn people that rain can
still enter the castle if blown in by the wind and this may make the
jumping surface slippery. If this does occur, we suggest vacating the
castle during the rain shower and playing an indoor game until the
shower passes. As soon as the shower passes, hand each child a towel
and they can have fun drying off the jumping surface (the kids usually
find this part of the fun!) before resuming bouncing.
If the forecast is for heavy, prolonged rainfall
you may prefer to cancel the booking, in which case we will gladly
refund your deposit. We will always phone you the day before
your booking to confirm the next day's delivery arrangements - if
showers are forecast, we can discuss what you may like to do. You can
even leave the decision until the morning of the booking, provided you
give us notice of cancellation before the deliverer leaves to deliver
your castle.
Rest assured that in most cases, Perth weather is
such that any rainfall is usually intermittent and thus
cancellations are rarely necessary. The kids always have a ball, even
if jumping is interrupted for a short time. A bouncy castle is a great
source of entertainment, particularly in the winter months, as the
guests are guaranteed to keep warm, and can release much of the
pent-up energy from days indoors!
Can the castle be set up indoors?
-
Yes,
the castle can be set up in a hall, clubroom, gymnasium, or a similar
venue with sufficient space, and is a great idea for the winter
months. Sandbags are used to anchor the castle. You will just need
to check that there is sufficient floor space, and that the ceiling is
high enough. See castles to check the dimensions of each castle.
